About Us

We are a small 5 acre farm located on the border of Grant and Gallantin County Kentucky.

Out of passion for Natural Living, and love of Animals we have built Daisy Ridge since 2008 into what it is today. The farm life here was for our children to grow up and learn hard work, good life skills, animal husbandry, and all other life lessons farm life and living in harmony with the natural world can teach them.

Our kids were the ones who originally wanted the chickens, and rabbits when this was all starting. We started out with two goats, a rabbit, and 6 chickens!!! At one time we were home to 20 goats, 13 breeding pairs of rabbits in different breeds of pet and meat, over 100 truely free ranging organic chickens, 3 Peafowl, 2 Guineas, 11 ducks, a goose, and 4 turkeys! The boys are now grown and out on their own having learned well many valuable things, and making tons of fond memories they will use and cherish over the rest of their lifetime. While we have slimmed down considerablly since they left we still currently house 10 dairy goats, and 60 chickens, ducks, and geese, and 6 pens of meat rabbits.

All our birds still free range daily from afternoon until dark on our wooded lot and pastures making collecting eggs a much easier task than our daily egg hunts around the property for hidden nests used to be But you can't beat the bright orange centers of free range eggs so we can never keep them caged in! Our goats have about 3 acres fenced for them and get grains at milking time and hay in the winter. I still attend every birth I can, and when I am at work my husband attends to them for me. We do this just to lend a helping hand if it is needed, and so the kids bond with humans from day one. It's such a blessing to be able to watch them come into this world.

We hope to enjoy many more prosperous years farming here on our little part of Kentucky.
