Our Fine Feathered Friends

Welcome to our flock!!!

We have a long list of feathered friends to entertain you on your visit to Daisy Ridge.

We are home to 20 different breeds of chickens from adorable little D'Uccle Bantams to the great big beautiful Bramha. We also have bred and kept some of the most awesome crossbreeds in town!!!

We have two very rare breeds in our flock they are the true Rumpless Araucanas and the very cool Black Crested White Polish.

Our hens are permitted to sit, hatch, and raise their own young so they can add to our flock. We also hatch with an incubator from spring thru fall so there is always lots of chicks for sale. We try to run a rotational breeding schedule for purebred chicks from our flock but these have to be ordered in advance because of space limitations. Our birds are truely free range. Our meaning is very much diferent the labels on supermarket eggs where the birds only have access to a small porch for thousands of birds to pour out on to be considered free range. Our Chickens, turkeys, guineas, peafowl, and ducks range of their own free will from daylight until dark no fences hold them and are then locked into a closed house until morning for their protection from predators. These animals are free to roam and can often be found eating bugs and mice in our goat pastures, around our house, in or under vehicles...anywhere they choose to go even visiting the neighbors. The birds are given an all natural cracked grain mix daily, cut fruits, vegtables, and herbs weekly, not to mention any house

scraps we have. Our chicks start their life on a natural diet weather they are hen or people reared. No Medicated Feed! Our Poultry can often can be seen grazing our herbal gardens. I have seeded the area around the chicken house with a chicken pasture seed to allow them acces to the plants with the highest Omega 3 Fatty Acid contents and our favorite herbs for controlling parasites and good health.
